How many days until Christmas?

With our Christmas countdown calculator, you can get the answer right away! Leaving the default date, the tool will count the days from today. But you can also choose any date in the year, and it will show the total days left until Christmas. Pretty cool, right?!

If you want to know the time difference between any two dates – not just Christmas – try our day counter for an accurate calculation.

What date is Christmas on?

Christmas is celebrated every year on December 25. In 2018 it fell on a Tuesday, and in 2019 it was on a Wednesday. Curious to know what day of the week next Christmas will fall on? Use our day of the week calculator – it lets you find the days of the week for any date in the past or future. Want to see what day of the week you were born on? You can do that too. Or wondering what day Christmas will be in 2030? We’ve got that covered too (it’s a Wednesday, by the way).

How to use the day counter

To use the day counter, select the start month, date, and year from the drop-down menus. If you want to count the last day, check the “Include end day” option. For example, if a task is due on April 24 at 11:59 PM and today is March 29, select those dates and check the box to include the end day. Alternatively, selecting April 25 as the end date without checking “Include end day” will give the same total.

The calculator offers additional settings accessible through the “Settings” link. You can decide whether to count holidays. If you choose to include them, select which standard US holidays to count, or add additional holidays using the table provided. The final result will show the number of holidays in the selected range.

This tool calculates the days between dates based on a Monday to Friday work week, assuming that the weekend falls on Saturday and Sunday. It automatically separates the total days into weekdays and weekends but can also calculate specific or general holidays, listing them with the total. The calculator always counts the start date as a full day and counts the end date if “Include end day” is checked. If the box is unchecked, the end date is excluded from the total.

Calculating days from a date

By entering the start date and the number of days to add or subtract, the calculator determines the resulting date. The “Count business days only” option determines whether the calculation includes weekends or not. For example, if this option is selected, the start day is Monday, and you add seven days, the result will be Wednesday of the following week, excluding Saturday and Sunday.

Day of the Week

The calculator also displays the day of the week for any selected date. There are several ways to find the day of the week. One well-known method is the Doomsday Rule, developed by John Conway, which can be done mentally with practice.
